MALAYSİAN JOURNAL OF SUSTAİNABLE ENVİRONMENT (MySE) is an interdisciplinary journal that publicizes both conceptual and empirical research findings of the environmental, social, cultural development, education and economic dimensions specifically affecting Malaysian communities.

If you have unpublished papers in hand and have the idea of making our journal a vehicle for your research interests, please feel free to submit your manuscripts to this journal. All manuscripts should be prepared in a scholarly manner.

The followings are the general guidelines for submission; please refer to our Guideline for Authors for more detailed information.

  • Only original papers will be accepted, and copyright of the published papers will be vested in the publisher.
  • The submitted manuscripts must be do not exceed 5000 words and not less than 3000 words.
  • The authors must include a cover page indicating their names, affiliations, addresses, contact numbers and email addresses.
  • It is compulsory to cite TWO articles in the Malaysian Journal of Sustainable Environment (MySE) to increase the impact factor.
  • An abstract not more than 100 words must be enclosed on a separate sheet at the beginning of the text. The abstract must state the purpose, procedures, methodology and conclusions of the study. The endnotes must be kept to a minimum. The references adhere to APA format, it must be placed at the end of the manuscript. Samples of entries are as follows:

    Book:
    Wolfe, C. (1987). Streets Regulating Neighborhood Form: A Selective History. Public Streets for Public use. New York: Van Nostrand Reinhold.

    Journal:
    Cozens, P. (2008). Crime Prevention through Environmental Design in Western Australia: Planning for Sustainable Urban Futures. International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning, 3(3), 272–292.

  • The submitted manuscripts will be screened initially by the chief editors to determine their suitability.
  • The Editorial Advisory and Review Board will then review the manuscripts.

 

 

 


Submission Preparation Checklist;

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; maximum of 20 pages; uses a 12-point font Times News Roman and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About MySE. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

 

 

 


.ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE

Malaysian Journal of Sustainable Environment (MySE) is committed to ensuring the highest standards of publication ethics, whereas all possible measure strictly prohibits the publication malpractice. Our responsibility is to publish original work of value to the intellectual community in the best possible form and the highest possible standards. We expect similar standards from our reviewers and authors. Honesty, originality and fair dealing on the part of authors, and fairness, objectivity and confidentiality on the part of editors and reviewers are among the critical values that enable us to achieve our goal. MySE endorses and behaves by the codes of conduct and international standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics. MySE is committed to following best practices on ethical matters, errors, and retractions, and to provide a legal review if necessary.

EDITOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES
The Editors are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published;

  • The Editors may discuss with other editors or reviewers in making the decision;
  • The Editors evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors;
  • The Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate;
  • The Editors should ensure a fair and proper peer review process;
  • Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by anyone who has a view of the script in his or her research without the express written consent of the author;
  • The Editors should guard the integrity of the published record by issuing corrections and retractions when needed and pursuing suspected or alleged research and publication misconduct.

 

EDITORIAL BOARD RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Editorial Board must keep information about submitted manuscripts confidential.
  • The Editorial Board must disclose any conflicts of interest.
  • The Editorial Board must evaluate manuscripts only for its intellectual content.
  • The Editorial Board is responsible for making publication decisions for submitted manuscripts.

 

 SCIENTIFIC REVIEWER’S RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Information regarding manuscripts submitted by authors should be kept confidential and be treated as privileged information;
  • Reviews should be conducted objectively. There shall be no personal criticism of the author. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments;
  • Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. The appropriate citation should accompany any statement that had been previously reported elsewhere;
  • Reviewers should request to the Editors attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge;
  • In case, any reviewer feels that him/her can't complete review of manuscript within stipulated time then the same must be communicated to the editors so that the same could be sent to any other reviewer;
  • Reviewers should not review papers in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

 

PUBLICATION ETHICS
Submission of an article implies that:

  • The work described has not been published previously except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis.
  • That it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • That its submission and publication in the journal is known and approved by all Authors.
  • The work is the Author’s own and there are no falsification or fabrication of data, plagiarism including duplicate publication of the authors’ own work without
  • proper citation and misappropriation of the work are all unacceptable practices.

 

AUTHOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Authors should submit papers only on work that has been conducted ethically and responsibly and that complies with all relevant legislation;
  • The authors present their  results,  honestly, and   without   fabrication, falsification or inappropriate data manipulation;
  • The Authors should endeavour to describe their methods clearly and unambiguously so that others can confirm their findings;
  • The Authors should adhere to publication requirements that submitted work is original, is not plagiarized, and has not been published elsewhere;
  • The Authors must certify that the manuscript is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere;
  • The Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and words of others this must be appropriately cited;
  • The Authors should take collective responsibility for submitted and published work;
  • A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Duplicitous or expressively inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable;
  • Proper acknowledgement of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work;
  • The Authors should ensure that the authorship accurately reflects individuals’ contributions to the work and its reporting; and where others have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged;
  • The Authors should disclose relevant funding sources and any existing or potential conflicts of interest. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed;
  • When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editors and the editor to retract or correct the paper.

 

 

 


Publication fees in MySE include submission, reviewing, editing, publishing, and uploading the accepted article in MySE website. For all these services, MySE charges MYR200 @ USD100 per article. The minimum word length of the article should be 3000 and not exceed 5000 words. Please e-mail the receipt after making the payment. Payment of fees can be bank into an account number as follows:

Our reviewers are experts from around the world.
